Women in Science Without Borders Launches New Website in Preparation for 2024 Forum

In the dynamic landscape of scientific research, Women in Science Without Borders (WISWB) stands as a beacon for gender equality and women empowerment. This global initiative, which unites scientists from over 67 countries, is dedicated to fostering equal opportunities for men and women in scientific collaborations.

In a world where every click matters, WISWB has taken a significant digital leap forward. They have launched a new interactive website, a virtual home that mirrors their inspiring mission and the spirit of unity they foster.

At the helm of this organization is Founder and Chairwoman, Dr. Amal Amin, who is a distinguished member of SASTA. Dr. Amin’s career is marked by her unwavering dedication to advancing the field of nanotechnology and polymers, and her tireless efforts to promote gender equality in science. As a professor at the National Research Center in Egypt, co-founder of the Global and Egyptian Young Academies, and president of the Egyptian Society and Arab Network for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology, she has made significant contributions to science and research.

WISWB is gearing up for the World Forum for Women in Science 2024. This event will take place in the heart of Rome, Italy at Parco della Musica from April 17-19, 2024. The forum will focus on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), mainly numbers 5 (Gender Equality), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

The sessions promise to be a blend of intellect and innovation, covering topics like:

  • South-North collaboration

  • Science diplomacy

  • Science and society

  • Science communication

  • Gender equality

  • Smart Innovation

To add to the excitement, a call for abstracts has been announced, inviting thinkers and innovators to contribute their unique perspectives.

This is a new chapter in the journey of WISWB, a step towards a future where science knows no gender, only merit. Their new website and the upcoming forum are a testament to their unwavering commitment to these goals.
